The title of my blog reflects my desire to share what it is like to be a Muslim in America who's in politics. When I have worn niqab I have found it to be hard to convey friendly intent. It can be hard to push past preconceived ideas of what a Muslim is and how she feels. I hope to change that.

Count the Vote!
Please join me at the The Elections Office as they host an open house on Thursday, November 2nd from 5PM to 7PM.
There will be guided tours through the office every 10 minutes to watch as the election team processes ACTUAL Election ballots.
This event is open to the public. Please use the entrance at the corner of 24th Street and Washington Blvd. Refreshments will be available at the end of the tour.
Join me as I participate in the Great American Experiment of Self-Governance where we choose from among our peers those who wish to lead. It's an amazing process & I would like to share it with my supporters who have lifted me so much during this campaign.
